COMPANY
ATKINSONS
OVER TWO CENTURIES OF FRAGRANCES
AND STILL GOING STRONG
Atkinsons was founded in London in 1799 by a young
and enterprising perfumer called James Atkinson.
His spirit lives on in the Atkinsons collections.
The fame of the House of Atkinsons grew steadily
throughout the 19th century, gaining the favour of
royalty, the aristocracy and the bourgeoisie. A major
turning point came in 1831 when James’s brother
Edward moved the business to the prestigious
Mayfair address of 24 Old Bond Street, with offices,
a laboratory and a large boutique with the finest
cosmetics and fragrances on display.
Success continued when Edward’s son took over and
in 1896, thanks to a vast increase in capital, the brand
and the products went global, winning over discerning
noses throughout America, Europe and Asia.
The brand’s fame has never waned and in the official
book celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum
Jubilee, it appears as one of just 70 distinctly
British brands recognized for their contribution to
business, society and culture in Great Britain. Now
a brand owned by EuroItalia, a major relaunch is
under way.
The brand, owned
by EuroItalia, is as
dynamic as when it
came into being…
